Re: Noting MUS General Education Core Requirements

At Montana Tech, we don’t note it on the transcript unless the student requests us to do so.  In that case, we note in the comment screen that the MUS GE core is met.  We determine if the core was met at another institution as part of the transcript evaluation process.

Subject: Noting MUS General Education Core Requirements

We've had an advising/transfer evaluation question come up recently regarding MUS general education core in BOR policy 301.10

Does any MUS system college/university mark on their transcripts if a student has met the MUS general education core?  If so where do you post it on the transcript and how is it noted (i.e. MUS GE Core met)?

For students that are transferring into your institutions, how do your advisers/evaluators determining if the MUS GE core has been met?

Thanks for any information you can provide.  I appreciate it. We are trying to confirm if there is a best practice for this area.
