The PLA Taskforce met on April 13 to review input received from a number of MUS constituents from December 15, 2014 through March 27, 2015. Many of the recommendations were implemented and others discussed or tabled. The changes that were made are reflected in this latest rendition of the DRAFT Prior Learning Assessment Policy Recommendations. http://mus.edu/2yr/pla/MT-policy-Final-DRAFT-4-21-15.pdf
We expect that during the summer a PLA Council will be appointed which will oversee ongoing PLA implementation. Several of the suggestions that were tabled will later be addressed by the PLA Council as implementation items.
Board of Regents action on the DRAFT PLA Policy Recommendations has been deferred from May to the September meeting. We have determined that more time is necessary to allow continued and broader engagement of MUS faculty and staff.
From now through July 17, 2015, please make sure your campus has sufficient time to review the guidelines. Input may be submitted in writing to your campus PLA Taskforce contact person or me at sjones@montana.edu . It is very helpful to cite the page and section of the DRAFT Policy Recommendations when making comments.
