Re: GPA SCALING

FVCC uses the same grade scale and gpa calculation as MCC.

http://catalog.fvcc.edu/content.php?catoid=5&navoid=300#Transfer_and_Grading

Grade Point Average (GPA)

GPA is determined by dividing total grade points by number of semester hours attempted. S, SA, SR, U, I, W, WI, AU and NG grades are not included in the calculations. If the course has been repeated, the last grade received in a course will be used to calculate the GPA with the exception of W, WI, AU, NG or I grades.

Re: interdisciplinary courses

MSUB followed the guidance (which, at the time, was very strict…) regarding though shalt not cross list and thy will uncross list anything that was, is, or ever would be…

A new rubric seems to have some logic, but here, I suspect the departments would say that the courses get ‘lost’ if they aren’t somehow associated with their academic department.

Does it feel like we’re rehashing e-v-e-r-y CCN conversation we had 10 years ago ? J

Hello,

There is some consternation on our campus about the inability to cross-list interdisciplinary courses.  We are looking at the UNIV rubric as a potential place to facilitate these courses.

I am wondering: is anyone else using this solution?  Does anyone else have other ways in which they code course that previously would have been cross-listed?

Thanks All

non-matriculated students

Hello,

I am seeking feedback regarding non-matriculated students.  MSU has some old forms and catalog references to non-matriculated students but I don’t fully understand how these were or can be used.  We are currently working to create a program in which developmentally challenged students could have an opportunity to experience success at college even though they may not meet standard admission criteria.  My understanding is that Indiana University’s program (from which we are gathering tips and tricks) uses a non-matriculated student status to facilitate their enrollment.  Unfortunately, I don’t know what our (Montana’s) non-matriculated policies or practices are.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Subject: Catalog Information

I have a question regarding catalogs.  Does any institutions list the CIP codes for programs of study in their catalog?

TrocoBuy

Hola,

Gracias,

Susana
