This would be in EOT.

Eric are you hoping to have these submitted as EOT snapshots or would Current snapshots be sufficient for your additional reporting needs?

The reason for the inquiry is we had to create graduation tables based with the summer after the normal school year as part of the year as compared to our normal tables with the summer before being part of the school year. This was required for a reporting another requirement. The tables I mentioned allow us to calculate the numbers and rates of graduations for that reporting.
What has come up is that we usually consider a cohort to be the students that start in the fall. So if you want a 4 year graduation rate for those cohorts and you truly want it to be 4 years, the summer after the school year would have to be included to allow for 4 full years. If you don’t use the summer after, then as an example a student that is in the Fall 2012 cohort has to graduate by the end of Spring 2016 to be a 4 year graduate. If the summer after the school year is used that student technically has until the end of Summer 2016 to graduate in 4 years.
The good news here is it would actually slightly increase the 4 year (and also 6 and 8 year) graduation rates for each school, some more than others. It is not being said that we would use this everywhere and for all reporting, what I am doing is seeing if it is a possibility to have the summers graduation rates into the table by October so we could also calculate the rates as I stated.

Eric,
I have some questions.
Why are we considering this and what is the need for the change?
Are you talking about locking summer completions a year earlier than we do now (EOT)?
EOT is used for a variety of reporting needs (fiscal, IPEDS, PBF).
Can you please add context to your query given it is likely “bigger” than whether or not the Registrar’s can have degrees posted by a certain time?
Thank you.

We are looking at some of our graduation reporting procedures in the OCHE office. I was curious if the graduation data for the summer graduates is entered into banner and official by October. So would the summer of 2020 graduates be completed in Banner by October of 2020? If not, is this something that could easily be done by then?
In the past we have not collected the summer graduation data until the following year. So the summer 2020 graduate data is not usually collected by OCHE until October of 2021. Because of this we are not sure of the timing of when that summer graduates data is actually completed.
