Charity,

We have quite a few examples at UM. We call them concentrations. Some majors require a concentration, like English (https://catalog.umt.edu/colleges-schools-programs/humanities-sciences/english/overview). Others have concentrations, but don’t require one, like Anthropology (https://catalog.umt.edu/colleges-schools-programs/humanities-sciences/anthropology/overview).

I can talk about this more, so feel free to email or call me.

Subject: Minor vs Option

I’m curious, does anyone have a good program example of what an option looks like in a Degree /major.  I’m trying to find some example to show a couple of people so we can clearly designate what is a minor and what is an option.  If there was a degree program out there that clearly outlines an option that would help the discussion.  I’ve already referenced the BOR policy regarding the definitions, but am now looking for clear example of what an actual “Bachelor of….insert degree/major here…with an option in …. looks like.

Thanks to anyone that has information.
