For the Fall and Spring terms, students have six (6) school days to drop/withdraw without owing. For Summer term, students have four (4) school days to drop/withdraw without owing. The students may do this on their own through Banner.
After that point the student must complete a Drop or Withdrawal form and get the applicable signatures. The students have through 60% of the term to drop/withdraw with a “W”/dropped or withdrew passing. After that point until the last week before the end of the term to drop/withdraw with a grade of “W” or “WF” at the discretion of the instructor.

Subject: [MACRAO] Course Drop Deadline
Hi MACRAO crew,
I’m gathering info on other school’s final drop deadlines, which approvals are required, and what appears on the transcript.
For instance, UM’s final course drop deadline is the last day of instruction – May 1, 2020 for this spring – and requires instructor, advisor, and Dean permissions. A WP (withdrawn while passing) or WF (withdrawn while failing) appears on the transcript. We have earlier deadlines where fewer permissions are required, but this is the last opportunity outlined in our policy.
Could you take a moment and let me know what your school’s policy is for the final drop deadline?
