Just writing to give you a bunch of updates. For Leadership this year, I should have registration open in the next few weeks (and will send along another note when it is ready) but just so you have dates I wanted to give you all the essentials. You can check the site for more details in the coming months at
www.aacrao.org/leadershipmeeting. You can also get some basic information and register for the first AACRAO Hill Day on the same landing page there. Finally, at the end of the email I am including a link to the Call for Volunteers for the new S&R Workgroup, focused on making a handbook resource for running a state and regional association. Each of these invitations are open to all interested State and Regional Officers.
2018 Leadership Meeting
When: June 22-24, 2018
Where: The Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill - 400 New Jersey Ave NW, Washington, DC 20001
Who: Any interested State or Regional ACRAO Officer, but generally the incoming President or President-Elect.
Cost: No registration cost, but you are responsible for booking travel and lodging. AACRAO's group rate at the Hyatt is $175/night + tax.
The meeting agenda will be pretty much the same for State and Regional Officers - the meeting will open up on Friday at noon with a shared Leadership portion before heading off to dinner and the event. This year will almost certainly be a baseball game at Nats Park, hopefully with catering at the park as well. Saturday will be a mixture of sessions on finance, legal issues, and advocacy, along with roundtable discussions. The meeting wraps up on Saturday night, but you are welcome to stay through until Sunday (we will cover your meals through Saturday night).
We understand that the timing change is not ideal for some of you, and since we are doubling up we are anticipating fewer of you coming. Nonetheless, the invitation is open to all officers.
AACRAO Hill Day
When: June 21, 2018
Where: The Hyatt Regency (morning) and the Congressional and Senate Office Buildings (afternoon)
Cost: AACRAO will cover lodging, travel, and food expenses for those who are selected to join in the AACRAO Hill Day. This would extend out through the normal Leadership Meeting as well.

How to Run a State or Regional Association Workgroup - Call for Volunteers!
This workgroup will develop a publication for AACRAO State and Regional Organizations containing best practices, examples, and suggestions that the affiliated organizations may reference as they develop and/or improve their organization. Read more.
