Re: Coding Veterans

Good morning-

The changes proposed for the reporting of Choice Act participants have been received positively thus far.  Since we have not heard any objections, I would ask that you forward the attached finalized document to anyone at your respective institutions who may be affected by the change and ask that they be implemented.

Thank you to those of you who provided feedback and helped to devise a strategy that works for everyone.

John

Thanks to those of you who have responded to me with comments and suggestions on this proposal.  Due to some concerns about the use of the 999999 and 900000 term codes, I spoke at length with a team from the MSU campuses.  As a result of that conversation, the proposal to use the Activities tab on SGASTDN rather than the Veteran tab was brought up.  This seems like a good method that will capture the terms for which an individual became eligible for the exception, as well as the term a person may become ineligible.  Please see the attached proposal (V2) and let me know if you have questions or concerns about this new approach.

Thank you,

John

Did we decide where we are all going to code the Veterans who benefit from the Choice Act?  John Thunstrom threw out some ideas in his March 25th email but I don’t see where it was decided.  Did I miss it?
