Dual Degrees/second degrees v.s. double major

Dear Friends,

Rocky Mountain College currently offers dual degrees or second degrees. Our administration is looking into potentially changing the requirements of earning a dual degree to matching that of a double major. I'm concerned about making a change like this.  

Can you please give me some insight into your current policies or practices on dual degrees/second degrees v.s. double major requirements. 

Ours is currently listed in the our 13-14 catalog as below (double majors only have to meet the major requirements for all declared major and core requirements of the baccalaureate degree:
