Hi all –
I’m not sure I have much additional to add from what has already been shared. Last question first – Admissions & Records/Registrar are the same office here; so we don’t have any handoff – simply a file process after census date to migrate the applied/did not attend; applied/attending new; and applied/attending need transfer work posted and putting them through the processing gauntlet.
All transcripts are dated and stamped official or unofficial by staff when received. Tracked in a daily spreadsheet viewable to multiple offices. Entered into banner as received. Credits totaled and entered if official (for financial aid). We don’t keep the envelopes.

Subject: Official Transcript Question
Good Morning,
We would like to know your institutions procedures in handling incoming official academic transcripts.
Does your Admissions Office record/document receipt of the transcript within your system? Does Admissions make notation on the actual transcript, or do they make notation on the envelope and attach the envelope to the transcript? Also, does your institution keep the envelope to indicate if the transcript was issued directly to your institution or elsewhere?
What steps does your institution take in handing off the files from Admissions to the Registrar or Student Records office?
Thanks for your time and thoughts. We appreciate your help.
