Same is true at Montana Tech.  I will also add that at the end of each session, grades are submitted and rolled to the transcript.  We calc the GPA then, also.  But we don’t run academic standing until the end of the semester.

Helena College has grades submitted at the end of each session, but degrees are posted at the end of the semester. We will also write a verification letter if needed.

FVCC:  faculty are able to submit grades at the end of each session, but degrees are not recorded until the end of the semester.  We will also write a verification letter for students if confirmation is needed beforehand.

Sorry, I misunderstood the last question.  We only post degrees after the semester ends.  However I have offered to write verification letters for students who complete early if there is an issue of job offer that needs verification of their degree.

HI Cheri;

 

1)       We open grading the day each part of term ends for one week, but only open the part of term that has just ended.

2)      Faculty are required to submit grades within one week of the end of each part of term.

3)      We roll grades at the end of the term.  I wasn’t hear, but my understanding is that as a semester school grades/gpa should not appear on the official transcript (for financial aid) purposes until the semester officially ends.  I wasn’t here when that process was set up at the beginning of block, but that is my understanding. (plus you don’t want to roll grades constantly unless you have to J )

However we have set up the grade reports in DAWGS (SIS online system) so that students can see their awarded grade in grade report prior to the end of the semester.  It is just not on their official or unofficial transcript.

I am anticipating a question coming my way and would be interested in your processes.

 

If you have multiple summer parts of term…

1)      When do you permit faculty to submit grades ?

2)      When do you require faculty to submit grades (ie. at end of each part of term, or at end of full summer)

3)      When do you post degrees

a.       Anyone do it ongoing ?

b.       OR at end of term ?
