We are happy to share information that may be of value to veterans who may attend or are already enrolled in classes on your campus. Recently, the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education (OCHE) received funding from USA Funds to assist with infrastructure building and training for Prior Learning Assessment (PLA), with special emphasis on support for Montana’s veterans. This email outlines information on just one aspect of the award – Test Fees and Portfolio Assessment Fee Scholarships for Veterans. This includes:
- Scholarship monies to reimburse fees for “testing out” of a course or portfolio development course fees (where applicable) incurred by our veterans. This also includes the testing center application fee. The scholarship funds are designed to reimburse testing centers and campuses for PLA fees that are incurred by our veterans that are not covered by other means.
· Your campus Testing Center Official, Faculty Portfolio Assessor, or Academic Advisor is responsible for sending the completed application and an invoice detailing the fees to the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education.
The application process and accompanying form is attached. The intent is to keep the scholarship award and reimbursement process simple.
