Re: PLA questions

We do this with the Police Academy here in Montana.  We have the student turn in a portfolio with the courses they took and the faculty member then sends a memo stating which credits they would like to award.   We will not be making a blanket determination on things like this.  The faculty want to review the information from each student before making a judgements.

Hi Jerri,

 

We apply our PLA policy and that requires that the student completes a form so they understand how they are getting credit, etc...

 

They would provide the appropriate documentation and faculty would sign off. It might be an easy sign off since it's been done before but we would make sure the student understood the process etc. I don't see it becoming automatic, etc.
