Dear MACRAO Friends,
Kandi Gresswell and I had a chance to visit recently at PACRAO – and she mentioned that some folks might want more information on resources available to you, should your institution be audited. I wanted to give you some resources you can use as an audit approaches -- and assure you that we have folks here at the Clearinghouse in our Audit Resource Center (https://studentclearinghouse.info/audit/) that stand ready to assist you should questions arise from your auditors – or if you should receive any kind of a “finding.”
You’ll find all kinds of information and excellent resources on the website. Then, during the process of the audit, should the auditor pose any questions to you around who was reported to whom when, just reach out to our Audit Resource Center (auditresrouce@studentcearinghouse.org). The folks who staff that center know the federal regulations inside and out – and they have access to all the enrollment reports you’ve sent to the Clearinghouse. Just contact ARC – and they will be happy to help.
The same is true if the auditor advises you that you will have a “finding.” Again, reach out to ARC to be sure that in fact there is a problem on your end. Very often we find that there is no issue, but rather a mis-understanding or confusion on the part of the auditor. So tuck this away until audit season rolls around again.
