Hey Folks,

 

In Bozeman, we use the campus code “DC” in SSASECT to note our Dual Enrollment courses.  We also make a note is SSATEXT of the Dual Enrollment High School for that section. As we don't want to pollute a shared table (STVBLDG) with various high schools, we do not have the schools built into Banner for use in SSASECT. 

I've also included our internal documentation on building in the sections and instructors for review & usage as other campus' see fit.  This document covers our process from end to end for all Dual Enrollment courses.

Hi Jeff-

Can you explain a bit more about the MyInfo entry?  It appears you enter the High School in your DualCredit Instructor Assignments and have the ability to add new ones there as well.  Where does that information get stored?  Is this a modification to your Banner system?

Helena College uses the following (sometimes followed by number if there are multiple sections):

 

HH – Helena High

CAP or CA# - Capital High

MH – Manhattan High

SH – Sentinel High

SS – Seeley Swan

T – Broadwater High

D – Drummond

P – Philipsburg

JH – Jefferson High

 

We are discussing coding it in our building code and I think we will move in that direction. The number of classes and mish mash of codes has become hard for us to keep track. I think that would give us something more reliable to pull on.

I coordinate dual enrollment for Gallatin College/MSU Bozeman and list all my courses & the schools where they are offered at on a spreadsheet which I then send to the Registrar’s Office so they can build these into our MyInfo system & assign CRNs. I’ve copied our course scheduling folks in the Registrar’s Office on this email so that they can elaborate on any specific Banner screens they may use to track/designate specific high schools.

Good afternoon-

Just following up on an item from the MACRAO meeting.  I’m hoping that a representative from each school could pass along how you are recording which high schools are teaching concurrent enrollment courses in your Banner system.  I’ll compile a list and use it to start putting together some information on what coursework is being offered in each location and through which schools. 

 

If you need additional information, please let me know and thanks again for inviting me to your meeting.  I enjoyed the discussion!

At DCC, we assign a student attribute in SAAADMS and assign a section code in SSASECT, i.e., ODG - Glasgow, ODS - Sidney, ODV - Glendive, ODT - Terry.
