Hello all,
MACRAO leadership met on Thursday, October 5th, and a few updates were generated from our discussion that we would like to share. Considering the extensive workload we are all experiencing, it seems, and the short turnaround time to get something put together, we have made the decision to cancel the Fall 2023 MACRAO meeting this year, originally scheduled for this Thursday, Oct 26th. As many are aware, the fall and spring meetings are special compared to our monthly meetings, and with that, we would like to have an event that is well thought-out, worthwhile, and exciting for all.
With the cancellation of the fall meeting, we are going to put all our effort into creating a Spring 2024 MACRAO meeting that is exciting, informative, and robust. We have brainstormed a few ideas for the spring meeting and hope to get a survey of topics sent out by Nov 1. Of course, we would love everyone's feedback, so please take the time to complete the survey. And, in the meantime, if anyone would like to recommend topics or ideas for the spring meeting, please send those our way. We will also be working on a draft agenda for the spring meeting that will be sent out once complete.
Being that the date is saved, we will move forward with meeting for an hour this Thursday, the 26th, to host our business meeting. During the meeting, we will discuss the attached agenda.
The second update I have is, effective immediately, we will be making the switch to Zoom as our platform for our meetings. Virginia has cancelled the future calendar invites with Google Meet and new invites have been sent with the Zoom link.
