Re: verifying attendance in online courses

My recollection from our Federal Review was demonstrated “regular and substantive interaction” (ie. quiz, test, chats).  Logging in doesn’t count.

Course syllabi should be explicit about the expectations and interactions.

Subject: verifying attendance in online courses

Hi all;

UMW needs to rework some of its procedures and policies related to what is considered initially attending an online course (i.e. students logging in an reading materials is not considered participation for the federal government).  What are some approaches you use to verify participation in online courses when the information is needed?

Thanks for your thoughts
