Spring MACRAO Meeting Update From Leadership

Dear MACRAO,

There are a couple of important announcements related to leadership changes and the Spring meeting to get out to the community for consideration and feedback.  Please feel free to contact any of us if you have any question regarding this information.

Leadership Transitions

As some of you may have already heard Kristi Peterson our current MACRAO President has moved onto another exciting opportunity, but as a result she can no longer serve as current president to finish out her term.  To finish out the year the MACRAO leadership team will use the following transition plan.

To finish out the term of the President, the remaining MACRAO Leadership is filling in the gaps until the year ends and the election for a Vice President and Treasurer occur at the Spring meeting.  Kandi Gresswell, will step in as “Interim President” through her role as current Vice President.  With the close support of Charity Walters (Past President) and Leslie Dickerson (Treasurer) will plan and lead the Spring meeting.  During the spring MACRAO business meeting a new Vice President will be selected (as the Bylaws require) and Kandi will official begin her year (17-18) as President.  If MACRAO as a group prefers, Charity is willing to stay on for another year as Past President, but if there is another Past President who  prefers to function in this role the membership can discuss and/or approve whatever opportunity is best.

Spring Meeting

Due to complications with logistics and the leadership change, our spring meeting has been moved to Missoula. Thank you, UM, for letting us gather at your institution!

In order to best accommodate our membership, we wanted to be mindful of the BOR meeting being held when we were originally planning to meet over 3/9-3/10.  Are there any objections to meeting the week of the 20th?  We will be sending out an email requesting topics for our spring meeting and very much appreciate your input so that we can assemble an agenda that is meaningful for all of us

Kandi, Charity, and Leslie
