We run lists of students who are enrolled but failed the pre-req. We share those lists with the departments who, then, have the authority to drop the student from the subsequent class. The only caveat is that they notify the student if they are going to drop them.

We allow students to register for a course before they grades for the pre-requisites have been posted. Does anybody have a good process for taking students out that have pre-registered, but then fail the pre-requisite? How does this work on your campuses?
