I’m the new Registrar here at Carroll College (Cathy Day has moved into the Associate Academic Dean role) – I look forward to meeting many of you at the fall meeting! In the meantime, I’m hoping to get some help with a question about credit by examination.
Do any of you have experience with accepting credit from BYU’s foreign language testing service? Apparently, the online tests can be proctored on your local campus, and it seems they are graded on a pass/fail basis. More information is available here: http://flats.byu.edu/flatsinfo.php and http://flats.byu.edu/langlist.php?x=6. This option appears to be very similar to CLEP or a credit by challenge exam, except that BYU is the one determining whether it’s a pass or a fail, rather than providing a raw score… I think? If you have any further insight, please do share!
