Re: Denver/AACRAO and MACRAO Agenda Note

Hi Cheri,

Do you have a sense of what (or if any) technology is needed for our meeting?    I’m now in a room dilemma because our new Registrar has decided his entire staff should attend which is 12-15 people.    We may be able to squeeze into the one room booked for Thursday but the room I booked for Friday will not accommodate our increased number of attendees.   There are two large classrooms that are available but had different tech options.

Hard to believe but it’s almost impossible to find space on this campus.     I began the hunt months ago.

Hello,

AACRAO/Denver

I have heard there may be a fair number of Montana professionals headed to the AACRAO conference in Denver this coming week.  If you wish, we could arrange a dinner (perhaps on Tuesday when other states/regions are having gatherings) to touch base ?

As I know many on the list are not going, if you are, and wish to be contacted, please feel free to send me a note directly vs. hitting reply (cjohannes@msubillings.edu) and I will see what we can arrange.

MACRAO Agenda

MACRAO agenda is in draft … it has been my top priority all week – anyone else’s week evaporate ?!  Soon.  Mostly topics for the groups to visit about and some presentations from amongst the group vs. the back-to-back external speakers arrangement of fall.  I have heard from a few folks, but If there is something you wish to be sure we discuss, especially community colleges and privates that I may not be as in tune with, please feel free to send it my way.  Here are some of the hot topics:

·         SWAMMMEI/TAACCCT grant update; impact; discussion

·         Current OCHE/Student Affairs Officers/Legal discussions on admission of convicted felons

·         OPI transcript project/data governance update (more like a brief agenda update topic on current state)

o    Related issues include coding of early college students

o    First Time FR Cohort coding (banner specific)

·         Veteran’s (?)

·         Fee Waiver changes (more of an update… memos have started to come out)

·         Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment

·         Prior Learning

·         e-Transcripts

·         Upcoming reporting requirements (feds)

·         PACRAO/Conference topics (Jeri/BZ has some information on commencement ceremonies; and possibly a round table topic for those using degreeworks for how to formulate it as the graduation application)

·         AACRAO – a few of us are attending and may find something of importance to bring back; even if just national trends to be aware of

“It’s the registrars,” he said, who are “trying to figure how you manage these crazy transcripts.””

Dear Dual Enrollment Coordinators:

Please replace your Dual Enrollment registration form with this updated version of the form.  Karin Janssen updated the language in the “Transfer” section to more accurately reflect the language currently used in relation to transfer.  I have attached a screen shot of the edited version of the section so you can see how it was changed.

Many thanks to Karin for calling this to my attention!

Please also forward this to your registrar’s office and any other folks on your campus who you think need to have the updated version of the form.

Have a great weekend!
