Using PayPal to register for the Fall conference

Hi All,

 

There are a handful of questions regarding using PayPal to pay for the Fall conference and register/paying for multiple items.  I went through the process myself this morning as a refresher and you do have to register each time you are paying for an individual item.  I’ve noted the steps I used below in case that helps anyone that is having problems.  (I tend to be over detailed with instructions so please forgive the step by step details)

 

 

Registering for the MACRAO conference

1.       Go to http://www.macraoonline.org/macrao-conference.html

2.       Select “Register for Meeting”

3.       Enter your registration information for the first time and submit.  This will take you to the “Now it is time to pay” page

4.       Select “Buy Now” next to MACRAO Conference if you are paying by Pay Pal.  If you are paying for a group to attend, please note that you can only pay for one Conference at a time.  See next steps to add additional people.

5.       If you need to add additional people or pay the annual fees or dinner, select the “Return to MACRAO” link on PayPal.  If you are not registering anyone else or paying additional fees you are done at this point

6.       The “Return to MACRAO” link redirects you to a receipt page on the MACRAOonline.org website.  If you are adding additional people select the “events” heading and then “2015 MACRAO Fall Meeting”.

7.       Repeat steps 2-6 for each person or fee you need to pay.  It is okay to register the same name multiple times in order to get dinner and annual fees paid.

There seems to be some issues with this right now with paying for more than one item at a time on the website. We will try to work it out between now and Monday and let you know what to do to pay for multiple people.

For now items have to be paid for/registered individually. It is okay to register multiple time to pay for items.

As soon as we have a solution for multiple payments at the same time we will be in contact with the group.

Attached is a list of hotels available in Dillon.  The meeting will be held on Western’s campus so distance from the campus is noted below the hotel. 

 

We will be meeting in the STC Great Room both days of the meeting.  STC is building #9 on this campus map http://www.umwestern.edu/campus-map.html?highlight=WyJjYW1wdXMiLCJjYW1wdXMnIiwiJ2NhbXB1cyIsImNhbXB1cydzIiwibWFwIiwiY2FtcHVzIG1hcCJd.  Parking is noted with a “P”.

 

Parking can be an issue with our campus especially during the daily blocks (8:15-11:15 and 12:15 to 3:15).  We will have parking passes available as you arrive at the STC Great Room.  Go ahead and park your car, and then come to the great room to pick up a visitor pass.  The pass will be good for both days.  Passes are not needed if you are parking in street parking spots. 

 

We are working on trying to getting 10-15 parking spots reserve for the event in the parking lot next to STC and the BARC Athletic Center (building #19).  We will let you know where these will be located as soon as we know if reserved spots will be available.

We are happy to share information that may be of value to veterans who may attend or are already enrolled in classes on your campus.  Recently, the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education (OCHE) received funding from USA Funds to assist with infrastructure building and training for Prior Learning Assessment (PLA), with special emphasis on support for Montana’s veterans.  This email outlines information on just one aspect of the award – Test Fees and Portfolio Assessment Fee Scholarships for Veterans.  This includes:

 

• Scholarship monies to reimburse fees for “testing out” of a course or portfolio development course fees (where applicable) incurred by our veterans.  This also includes the testing center application fee.  The scholarship funds are designed to reimburse testing centers and campuses for PLA fees that are incurred by our veterans that are not covered by other means.

 

·       Your campus Testing Center Official, Faculty Portfolio Assessor, or Academic Advisor is responsible for sending the completed application and an invoice detailing the fees to the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education.

 

The application process and accompanying form is attached.  The intent is to keep the scholarship award and reimbursement process simple.

Dual Enrollment discussion at MACRAO

Hello All!

 

Amy Williams from OCHE is working us into her schedule. Please forward any and all questions you have for her to me and I will provide them to her. She is happy to have an open discussion format for lots of Q&A. I will give her a list of our initial burning questions so she can get a feel for where the conversation will be going!

Hey Everyone!

 

It is time to plan our October MACRAO meeting! As the new President Elect, I have been informed that I am the “planner/coordinator/glue” who pulls this meeting together. And I happily accept the challenge.

 

At this time, I am calling for any suggestions regarding agenda items for the meeting.

 

·         We currently have Lexy Fisher of HealthCARE Montana joining us for one session. So that is a start…

·         What else is happening on your campus or statewide that you would like to discuss?

·         Have you or a colleague presented items recently that would be beneficial to the group?

·         Would you like to break into Registrar and Admissions groups separately for any topics?

·         Do you have anyone in mind that you would like to invite as a presenter?

·         Anything new at MUS that you would like to discuss with a panel of representatives?

 

Please get back to me with input as soon as you can and I will solidify the agenda.

 

I am looking forward to the meeting and seeing all of you again!
